18h50 on 22/4, the Central Project Management Board of Central Power Works (CPMB) has cooperated with related units to implement electric acceptance test and put into operation the 220kV branch of the 220kV Luu Xa substation ( Thai Nguyen province).
The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), CPMB is responsible for project management on behalf of EVNNPT, Power Transmission Company No.1 is in charge of operation management.
Luu Xa 220kV TBA project was built in Hoa Bac village, Thinh Duc commune, Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province.
The work has 2 phases: Phase 1, new construction of 220kV TBA, installation of a 220kV-250MVA transformer, which has been successfully energized by CPMB and related units and put into operation on December 31 / 2018. Phase 2 with new construction scale of 220kV double circuit line from 220kV Luu Xa substation connected to Thai Nguyen – Phu Binh 220kV substation at column 87-88, the length of the whole route is nearly 1,1km.
Although the length of the route is short, there are many difficulties in land acquisition and clearance. By the efforts of stakeholders including the close guidance of the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen Province and the National Power Transmission Corporation, together with the efforts of the construction unit and the related parties, the CPMB was completed. energized wall meet project progress.
The energizing and operating the 220kV branch of the 220kV Luu Xa substation will meet the load growth demand of Thai Nguyen province in particular and the Northern power system in general. Receiving electricity from hydroelectric plants in the Northwest region and supporting the existing 220kV transformer stations of the region, creating a circuit link between areas in the electricity system, increasing security operation. safety and stability for the national electricity system.
